About Me
Teaching Experience
I have over 16 years of teaching experience, working with students ranging in age from 7 to 75. I enjoy teaching beginners who are just starting their musical journey as well as more advanced students who want to deepen their skills and musical expression.
⸻
Teaching Philosophy
My teaching approach is centered on personalization and engagement. Every student learns differently, so I tailor lessons to match each individual’s goals, learning style, and musical interests.
I strive to make lessons fun, supportive, and inspiring, while also ensuring that students continue to grow technically and musically. One of the best ways I keep students motivated is by incorporating music they genuinely enjoy, helping them stay excited about practicing and progressing.
What makes my lessons unique is that they are structured yet pressure-free, creating an environment where students feel comfortable exploring, learning, and building confidence.
⸻
Student Success
One of my proudest teaching moments is seeing students grow both musically and personally. For example, one of my students, Kezia, began lessons feeling very shy and unsure of herself. Over the years, she developed confidence and musical ability, and she is now applying to music schools in New York City.
⸻
Musical Background
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Millikin University (2014). In addition to teaching, I have toured and recorded professionally and have performed at iconic venues throughout New York City.
As both a performer and educator, I continue to develop my skills and grow as a teacher, staying inspired and bringing fresh ideas into my lessons.
⸻
Studio Environment
My goal is to create a light, positive, and encouraging atmosphere where students feel comfortable learning and expressing themselves musically. Lessons are designed to be both enjoyable and challenging, allowing students to grow steadily while maintaining a genuine love for music.

“Mr. C has been teaching my twin boys for a little while now. My kids are able to stay focused with his style of lessons and have learned so much already. He’s incredibly patient with them but also holds them accountable for their efforts outside the lessons. Mr. C makes the lessons fun and enjoyable so my boys always looks forward to them. He’s also a great communicator and understands that life happens. He’s flexible with scheduling and gives notes on what they can improve on. He connects with the kids on a deeper level and you can tell that music is his passion. I highly recommend him for any age and level. ”
