Hello my name is Miss Daphne!

I’ve been teaching piano for about seven years and hold both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in classical piano performance. Alongside teaching, I work professionally as a musical director for productions with Norwegian Cruise Line, and I’ve toured internationally as a concert pianist. I’ve also perform regularly in chamber ensembles and collaborative settings.

I previously served as Professor of Keyboard Studies at Idyllwild Arts Academy, a pre-professional international boarding arts school, where I also taught music theory and musical theatre.

Most of my teaching experience has been with high school and college students with a southeast Asian or Eastern European background- developing advanced technique and developing repertoire tailored to each students strengths and weaknesses. At the same time, I enjoy working with younger pianists who are serious about the instrument and preparing for a college-conservatory track. I find it especially rewarding to help talented students build strong technical and musical foundations early on.

Students of all ages are treated with respect and accountability, and are considered equal partners in their personal development in my studio. I love both performing and teaching, and my goal in lessons is to help students develop solid technique, musical confidence, and a deeper understanding of the music they play.
