My teaching philosophy centers on the belief that learning is most effective when students feel engaged, supported, and challenged. I strive to create an inclusive environment where diverse perspectives are valued and curiosity is encouraged, allowing students to take an active role in their education. Ultimately, my goal is to empower students to build confidence in their abilities, connect ideas to real-world contexts, and develop a genuine passion for learning.

I believe that every student is creative. In my classes we do not only focus on performance skills. We learn music theory, composition and improvisation. I really enjoy when my students play on the piano/clarinet/saxophone the music they have written themselves.

Many of my students in the past have achieved professional careers, have been playing in collegiate ensembles or have just learned an instrument for fun and stress relief!

My teaching approach is for my students to learn as much as possible while still enjoying the process of learning an instrument.
