About Me
My name is Grant Gaidies, and I am the current organist for the Colorado Avalanche. I offer personalized piano lessons for students of all ages and skill levels, taught either in my home studio in Castle Rock, Colorado, or online. Lessons are available in 30-, 45-, or 60-minute sessions and are fully tailored to each student’s individual goals. Whether you are a complete beginner, returning to piano after time away, or looking to strengthen technique, theory, ear training, improvisation, or overall musicianship, each lesson is designed to meet you where you are. My teaching style emphasizes strong fundamentals, confidence, creativity, and a genuine love for music within a supportive environment. In-person students learn in a fully equipped studio, while online students receive the same focused, individualized instruction with added flexibility. My goal is to help every student grow into a confident, expressive musician.
My teaching is shaped by how I work as a professional musician. I focus on helping students think like musicians, not just play notes. Strong rhythm is a foundation in my lessons because steady time builds confidence and control. I also emphasize ear training and understanding harmony so students recognize patterns and hear what they are playing, rather than relying only on sheet music. I want students to feel independent at the instrument.
I teach efficient practice habits and performance mindset, drawing from my experience performing in high pressure environments. One meaningful moment was preparing a student to perform at the Avalanche’s Next Generation Night. Seeing them step into that arena with confidence showed how preparation, awareness, and composure come together. My goal is to build capable, expressive musicians who feel steady, prepared, and excited to grow.

What age and skill levels do you teach?
I teach students ages 5 and up. It is important that students are able to read at a basic level, write simple letters and words, and understand basic addition, such as finger counting. These foundational skills help ensure lessons run smoothly and productively. I work with all experience levels, from complete beginners to advanced students looking to refine their technique, strengthen musical understanding, and take their playing to a higher level.
What lesson formats do you offer?
I primarily teach from my home studio in Castle Rock, Colorado. I also offer online lessons, supported by a high-quality professional setup to ensure a clear, engaging, and effective learning experience.
What is your availability for lessons?
I am available for lessons six days a week, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., with Sundays reserved as a day off. While I do have other students on my schedule, we can work together to find a time that fits your needs.
