My name is Heather Kim and I’m a recent Film/Game Scoring and Composition dual major graduate from the Berklee College of Music. I've studied the piano and cello for over 10 years in the classical and contemporary genres, though I'm much more experienced in classical and traditional music. My background consists of having played in several concerts, solo recitals, ensembles, competitions, and full symphonies, including performed the Grieg Piano Concerto in A Minor with the Anchorage Youth Symphony as a result of winning the 2020 Alaska Piano Concerto Competition.

And aside from music, I love film and art. Extra emphasis on film!

Kids, to me, are smart, communicative, optimistic, fast-learners. I strive to make my lessons as smooth and as fun as possible for everyone, and help build each student's confidence and skills in order to reveal their inner artist. As much as I enjoy performing, I'm focusing more on the compositional aspect of my career nowadays, which is why I want to teach and share my knowledge in performance to the next generation of young, powerful musicians.
