Hi. My name is Jazmyne Jackson. I am a classically trained pianist and cellists with 15 and 6 years of experience respectively. I teach classical piano performance, music theory in both instruments. And I also teach music theory in both instruments. I teach the music genres of classical, pop, and R&B. I also teach classical pop (from artists such as Yann Tiersen, and Ludivico Einaudi). I love music, and I love teaching it to my students. My approach to teaching is what I would describe as simple, with as much explanation as possible, and fun. What I love most about teaching piano (and possibly cello) is seeing my students eyes light up when they have an “a-ha” moment in lessons. I really enjoy explaining the background of music theory, the how and the why, and to help my students truly understand the art behind music itself, and why it’s important to learn how to properly convey the precise beauty and variety that learning music can entail, with the proper work and practice needed to master the art of making music, with whichever instrument you choose to play. I hope that I can instill that same love of music to each and every one of my students, not just so you can play well, but you can have a deep understanding as to why you can and should play well.
