Hello! I'm Jon, a musician and music teacher specializing in jazz and contemporary music styles like rock, hip-hop, and pop. I studied jazz performance at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, and spent 3 years touring the world with the historic jazz group The Four Freshmen. Now I work as a pianist and organist in Danvers, MA, and teach piano, trumpet, voice, guitar, ukulele, and french horn locally and online.

My teaching approach for jazz and contemporary music focuses on building a foundation of scales, chords, arpeggios, and patterns, while also developing the ear through ear training and transcription. These elements combined give the student a color pallet of musical ideas that they can then combine and develop into original concepts.
