About Me
Credentials and Affiliations
I have over 19 years of classical piano training, with advanced repertoire of over 50 memorized pieces from Liszt, Rachmaninoff, Chopin, Beethoven, Ravel, and Debussy. Throughout my piano journey, I have performed at numerous performances and recitals. Some of the most notable being Carnegie Hall in 2017, 2018, and the Kennedy Center in 2019. I was paid as a professional for a DC festival piano performance as well as live music therapy performances in December 2018. I was selected to represent the Duke Ellington School of the Arts at the Arnold & Porter law firm for live music performances for 3 years. I won First Prize in Instrumental Music and $500 at the Omega Psi Phi Talent Hunt Competition in March 2019. I played occasional piano performances on a Royal Carribean cruise in 2019 with an audience of about 10-20 people. I was accepted into the University of Miami in 2020, with pianist Tian Ying as my professor. In 2024, I obtained my B.M. in Music in Professional Studies from the University of Miami.
About
I’m passionate about helping people enjoy the piano and create music simply for the joy of it. After spending years building the confidence to express myself freely at the piano, I understand how challenging it can feel to take that next step in your musical journey.
Music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I began my piano journey when I was 4 years old, and my passion for playing continuously grown not only for the love of music, but to showcase something uniquely to who I am. I always struggled with performance anxiety because I was always a perfectionist in my playing. To this day I still remain nervous when I perform, however, gradually playing for audiences for the joy of it, and being able to reach the audience in some way, made me fall in love more with performing.
I’ve seen how easily music education can become overly structured and stressful. When lessons leave little room for choice or creativity, students can lose the sense of joy that first drew them to music in the first place.
