HI! My name is Kate Smith and I feel incredibly passionate about the piano! I have been playing piano since I was just 3 years old...which means 20 years by now! I have competed in piano competitions across the state of Utah and have taught piano for about 10 years. There is something so special about music and the joy it brings into the life of both the performer and the listener. I grew up learning to sight read and play lots of classical music, but in high school I added another piano teacher to the mix who taught me how to play my favorite songs by ear! I find myself sitting down at the piano whenever I feel stressed and I immediately find so much joy. My favorite part about teaching is helping students find the same joy in the piano that I found when I was young and continue to find every time I play!
