About Me
I’m a passionate music educator specializing in piano, voice, and songwriting, dedicated to helping students build both skill and confidence through creativity. My teaching style is highly interactive and student-centered—I incorporate games, game-based method books, and creative exercises to make learning feel fun, engaging, and meaningful.
I believe that music should be experienced, not just read. Whether a student naturally plays by ear, loves to sing, or wants to write their own songs, I meet them where they are and build from their strengths. Lessons often include improvisation, songwriting, and exploration alongside foundational technique, so students stay inspired while developing strong musical skills.
I prioritize connection and encouragement in every lesson. By creating a supportive, low-pressure environment, students feel safe to take risks, express themselves, and grow. My goal is not just to teach music—but to help each student discover their unique voice and develop a lifelong love for creating it.
My journey with music began at a young age, where I quickly discovered a deep love for both singing and performing. Throughout my early years in school, I immersed myself in choral music, participating in competitions, festivals, and all-state choirs. These experiences not only strengthened my technical abilities but also shaped my confidence and passion for connecting with others through music. I was honored to receive recognition at the regional, state, and national levels, and one of the most defining moments of my early career was being selected for the American High School Honors Choir, where I performed at Carnegie Hall at just 16 years old.
That momentum carried me into more advanced training, and at 17, I was accepted into the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, where I studied as an operatic soprano. During my time there, I developed a strong classical foundation while continuing to expand my musicianship through piano and later guitar, growing into a multi-instrumentalist. Performing in concerts and masterclasses further refined my artistry and deepened my understanding of both technique and expression.
My passion for music naturally evolved into a passion for teaching. I have worked with students across voice, piano, guitar, and songwriting, including my time at Meridee Winters School of Music and as a clinician with Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus in Psychology and Music at Liberty University.
At the heart of everything I do is a desire to use music as a meaningful and uplifting force. My goal is not only to teach skills, but to help students discover their voice, build confidence, and experience the joy of creating music in a way that is authentic to them.
