About Me

My name is Kevin, and music has been one of the biggest shaping influences in my life for as long as I can remember. Over the years, I’ve come to realize that music is about so much more than just learning notes, chords, or songs. Music has the ability to build confidence, shape character, create community, and help people express themselves in ways that words sometimes can’t. That belief is really at the center of everything I do as a teacher, musician, and creative.

I’m passionate about helping aspiring musicians grow, not just in skill, but also in confidence. Whether someone is completely new to music, learning their first few chords, preparing to lead worship, or simply wanting a creative outlet, I love helping people discover that they’re capable of more than they thought. One of the most rewarding parts of teaching is seeing students go from feeling unsure of themselves to confidently playing music they never thought they’d be able to play.

My approach to teaching has always been practical, encouraging, and personal. I know firsthand that learning music can sometimes feel intimidating. A lot of people think they’re “not musical enough,” too old to start, or not talented enough to really learn an instrument. I try to create an environment where students feel comfortable learning at their own pace while still being challenged to grow. I believe music should feel accessible and enjoyable, not overwhelming.

Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work with beginner musicians, homeschool students, worship team members, kids, teens, and adults from all kinds of different backgrounds. One thing I’ve learned is that every student learns differently. Some people love structure and repetition. Others learn best by immediately jumping into songs and hands-on practice. Some students need confidence before technique, while others enjoy diving deep into music theory and understanding how everything works. Because of that, I try to adapt lessons to fit the individual instead of forcing everyone into the same exact system.
