About Me
I am a dedicated piano teacher with a strong academic background as a piano major and extensive experience guiding students of diverse ages and levels. During my master’s degree, I served as a Teaching Assistant, teaching undergraduate group piano classes while also providing individualized one-on-one instruction. Alongside my academic teaching, I have worked closely with private students in the Bay Area, offering focused, intensive lessons and preparing them for recitals, competitions, ABRSM examinations, and State Music Exams.
My teaching philosophy centers on cultivating a solid technical and musical foundation while nurturing each student’s individuality and artistic voice. Lessons are thoughtfully tailored to meet each student’s goals, learning style, and pace of development, integrating technique, musical expression, and theory to support well-rounded growth. I am a detail-oriented yet flexible teacher, emphasizing efficient and mindful practice strategies that empower students to progress with confidence and independence.
What I value most about teaching is witnessing students internalize musical skills and transform them into their own authentic expression. I believe every student possesses unique strengths, and my role is to help those talents emerge naturally through piano study. Music is a universal language that should be accessible, engaging, and deeply rewarding; my aim is to guide students toward achieving their goals with clarity, enjoyment, and artistic fulfillment.
