Over 30 years of experience. I listen to the students goals and help them achieve them while having fun. I customize each experience. I use books as a foundation and teach each student to read it wrote it play it sing it and I create events for in person performances in productions and recitals. Every student that I have taught still plays music today. I have students that have graduated from Yale as well as students that are well known church accompaniment. I enjoy what I do and I have taught all ages. I use everything from visual aids to game play and application etc.

My background story is two-fold. I began teaching as a teenager to encourage positive productivity in our youth and community. I would invite them into my home for a meal and a lessons. Once I attended college as a young adult, I kept meeting people who stopped playing music. They would always say how they wished they had continued their lessons but that the teachers were too strict and they couldn’t understand what they were teaching. Well, I was able to explain things simply and have fun in the process and I began tutoring other musicians they were trying to learn as well. There have been many times that I coached a musician for an upcoming event or audition. I have even trained tone deaf people to sing. I studied under people like Joe Gilman, who still plays and teaches today. I studied under the tutelage of the late great Pearla Warren, who’s voice lessons and technique helped me understand how to teach tone deaf singer, and the amazing Teresa Keene who has also contributed to the community and the world as a concert pianist, Sheryl Counter is another vocalist who sings everything from classical to jazz to gospel in the local church today. Music is a tool and a discipline that touches the lives of many everywhere we go. It leaves an impact on the hearers, the performer, and the composers alike.
