About Me
Starting with classical music as a kid, Mike grew to understand the need for a developed musical ear when becoming a fully-rounded musician. While reading sheet music is an important skill, Mike's teaching style focuses on the importance of ear training, chordal knowledge, and improvisation. Once you get your head out of the music and start trusting your ears, your musical vocabulary will truly start to expand in ways you never thought possible.
Mike Greenwood is a festival-winning writer/musician known for his artistic versatility and proficiency as a ‘one-man production company’. Following his runner-up in the Dave Brubeck Fellowship out of High School, he spent a decade working as a professional keyboardist in Los Angeles (Mark Ballas, Haley Reinhart, Jairus Mozee, BJ the Chicago Kid). Mike’s session work can be found on The Real Loveboat (CBS) and Generation Gap (ABC). He is an alumni of the highly-vetted Second City Film School in Chicago and received a scholarship at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music studying Film/TV Composition and Post Audio Production.
