My name is Nadya Stratton, and I play flute and piano. I'm classically trained and have a Bachelor's Degree in Jazz Performance. I make the lessons fun and start by getting to know you, where you are with music and what your goals are. I can teach and discuss music theory, listening skills, improvisation, composing, and recording. I also discuss correct technique and fingerings for flute and piano and talk about the piece we are working on. Once we are comfortable performing a specific song, we go further by discussing the dynamics, music terminology and how to present it to our audience. When you work with me, you will be confident in reading music, a better sight reader, improve ear training, and understand music theory. You will also be exposed to more creative thinking and write your own music. We also improvise and play duets together. You are the one that creates the lesson and the pace.
