Hey there, my name is Naomi and I am a piano, guitar, and bass guitar teacher based in Huntsville Alabama! I started diving into music in 2022 with piano and guitar, and since then I have began attending the University of Alabama in Huntsville pursuing a degree in Piano Pedagogy.

I started out focused in classical music, but after suffering a head injury that affected my eyesight, I started having trouble reading sheet music consistently and began to instead devote my time to learning jazz theory to help my muscle memory. I started playing jazz piano in early 2024 in the UAH Jazz band, and ever since then, I have fallen in love with the genre. My introduction to music being in classical served a fantastic purpose as a foundation, but jazz did everything to expand on it and beyond. Thankfully my eyesight has improved since then, so I can sightread just fine now, but the mental training I did during that time did wonders to my reading abilities when they physically improved.

Because of my background in both classical and jazz, I have found little difficulty in being able to teach virtually any genre of music on the piano and also guitar/bass. I have diversified my own musical experience in order to best fit the individualized interests of my students, so no matter what you want to get into, I will be able to lend a hand.

I have experience working at a music store as a piano and guitar instructor as well as a summer camp instructor for a group learning piano and guitar. I have taught students from the age of six all the way up to the age of fifty-five, but I have no problems teaching outside of that age range. You can start learning music at any time in your life!
