Welcome! My name is Nate, and I'm committed to giving students the tools and knowledge to not only meet their goals, but also to foster a continuing love for music. The older I get, and the more I learn myself, the more passionate I become about music. I love teaching because it's such a privilege to watch students grow not only in their capacity for the art, but also in their sense of self. Watching students succeed in learning and accomplishing something new, whether that be executing a tricky passage of music or expanding their conceptual thinking about the music, brings me so much joy.

I have taught piano and voice for 2 years, and have been a music theory tutor in college. I've previously held mentoring roles as an intern for Volunteer Musicians for the Arts, a private tutor, and an inclusion specialist. I have experience working with students of all ages and levels, and am so eager to work with you!

Nathan Murray is a composer, pianist, and tenor from Maple Grove, MN. He is the recipient of the 2026 Beethoven Prize at Holy Cross, a Weiss Summer Research Fellowship in music, and a President's Volunteer Service Award in music. Nate has studied piano with Sonya Ovrutsky Fensome, voice with Thomas Oesterling, and composition with Matthew Jaskot and Laurence Rosania. He holds B.A.'s in Music and Political Science from College of the Holy Cross, and starts his M.M. in Composition at the New England Conservatory of Music this fall.
