Online Piano Lessons from Southwest Orlando, Orlando, FL

Hi, my name is Rachael Figgs and I have been studying and learning piano since summer of 2005. I was classically trained with private lessons performing for studio recitals, talent shows, piano competitions, and collaborating with small orchestras to perform at elementary and high schools. I was accepted into the Music School program at the University of Northern Colorado in 2016 and received my degree in Piano Performance in spring of 2020. I moved to Orlando, FL in 2021 and have been teaching in person piano lessons at Family Music of Clermont for the last 3 years.

Since summer of 2016 I started teaching private lessons to a few students throughout the week at my parents home while attending college. Since day 1 it has always been a goal for me to connect with my students and offer them not only an encouraging experience, but to also provide a safe space to express themselves with their musical abilities and have a teacher they can rely on and trust.

I have taught a variety of ages with the youngest student at 4 years old, elementary, teens, adults, and seniors. Although I teach in person currently, the music studio I teach at also offers online zoom lessons when students need to have an online lesson. Part of my teaching requirements for myself is to treat every student with respect and allow a safe environment for them. It is important to me to incorporate technique, ear training, music theory, and basic aural skills into each and every students lessons. I specialize in teaching classical music, but also have experience in teaching pop/rock, hymns, blues, and jazz. I have also helped prepare students for competitions, talent shows, and other performances for school or around the community.

My main goal for my students is to be able to understand the basic fundamentals of music, grow their ear training abilities, challenge them to achieve their musical goals, and to have them fall in love with

music like I did.
