Online Piano Lessons from Tavares, FL

Hi, I have been teaching piano, voice and guitar for 40+ years. I have a music performance degree from Colgate University. Correct hand position and fingering are extremely important to learn to play the piano right away. I use a fingering method to get started so students can play songs in their first lesson. The fingering method teaches beginners to have correct hand position and allows students to play confidently and learn to read the notes more quickly. I supplement the fingering method with sight reading exercises to learn to read the notes stress free. I work very hard to make lessons fun and allow students to choose songs that they want to play in addition to the lesson books. I only teach ONLINE lessons because they are convenient and students learn on their own piano. I have students all over the country and in all the time zones. What I love most about online lessons is that the parents can watch or even participate in the lessons at home. Most in-person studios prefer that the parent waits outside the lesson room. I use Facetime or WhatsApp for the lessons. You call my number at your lesson time, aim the camera at the student's hands and I can teach the lesson as if I was there in person. Another convenience of online lessons for busy families is that you can quickly reschedule a lesson with a simple text. My students know that I do not want them to miss an event or a game because of a rigid piano schedule. I am available 7 days a week and always happy to reschedule. My philosophy about teaching piano lessons has always been that my lessons are fun, engaging and stress free so students consider practicing an enjoyable adventure rather than a chore. In the first lesson, I teach you how to line up your fingers correctly on the keys which will enable you to play fingering supported simple songs right away. We will also discuss what songs you would like to play in future lessons and I will send links to purchase the lesson books at your level.
