I hold a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) in Piano Performance from West Virginia University (WVU). I also studied piano in France earlier in my training. I have been teaching piano since 2012 and have more than ten years of teaching experience working with students of all ages.

I currently work as a adjunct instructor at WVU, where I teach group piano classes and applied piano lessons.

I believe that music teaching is not just about playing the correct notes. It is about helping students understand music, enjoy the learning process, and express something honest through sound. Every student is different, so I try to adjust my teaching based on each student’s age, personality, learning style, and goals.

My musical journey has taken me from China to France and to the United States. These experiences have shown me that there is no single “right” way to learn or teach. Some students need clear structure, while others learn better through exploration. I try to listen carefully and find the best approach for each student.

In lessons, I focus on building healthy technique, developing musical ideas, and helping students become more confident and independent. When students prepare for performances, we also talk about stage presence, nerves, and communication. My goal is to help students grow not only as pianists, but also as thoughtful and expressive musicians.
