As a piano teacher, I bring a strong foundation in classical training, performance experience, and a warm, encouraging teaching style to my students. I began studying piano at a young age and have continued to develop as a musician through solo performance, accompaniment, ensemble playing, and music therapy training. My teaching experience includes working with students at different levels and helping them build solid technical skills, musical understanding, confidence, and enjoyment at the piano. In lessons, I focus on important fundamentals such as posture, hand position, technique, rhythm, sight-reading, phrasing, tone production, and expressive interpretation. At the same time, I believe piano lessons should not feel overly pressured or mechanical. I adapt my teaching to each student’s personality, learning pace, strengths, and goals, balancing structure with patience, humor, and creativity. My background as an accompanist and ensemble musician helps me teach students to listen carefully, understand musical flow, and play with sensitivity rather than simply pressing the right notes. My music therapy training also informs my teaching by making me more attentive to students’ emotional responses, motivation, and individual ways of learning. I want students to feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and gradually developing their own musical voice. For younger students, I enjoy creating a playful and supportive environment where they can stay curious and engaged. For more advanced students, I help them deepen their technique, interpretation, and independence in practice. Overall, my goal as a piano teacher is to help students develop strong musical skills while also nurturing confidence, creativity, discipline, and a lasting love for music.
