About Me

I am a pianist, composer, and music educator based in New York, with a background in musical theatre, composition, and performance. I hold a Master of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre Writing from NYU Tisch School of the Arts and a Bachelor of Music in Composition from Tokyo College of Music.

My teaching approach focuses on helping each student develop both strong technical skills and a personal connection to music. I believe that music is a form of storytelling, and I guide students to express emotions and ideas through sound, whether they are playing piano, singing, or creating their own music.

I teach piano, singing, music theory, ear training, and songwriting to students of all levels, from complete beginners to more advanced learners. For piano students, I cover a wide range of styles including classical, pop, rock, musical theater, and contemporary music. For singers, I offer coaching in musical theatre and contemporary styles, with an emphasis on expression, interpretation, and confidence.

In addition to technical training, I place strong importance on creativity. I often incorporate improvisation, composition exercises, and listening skills into lessons so that students can understand music more deeply and enjoy the learning process. I am especially experienced in working with students who are interested in musical theatre, helping them connect acting and music in performance.

I have experience teaching both children and adults, and I tailor each lesson to the individual student’s goals, pace, and personality. For younger students, I create engaging and supportive environments that encourage curiosity and enjoyment. For adult learners, I provide structured guidance while respecting their personal interests and motivations.

As an active composer and performer, my work has been presented in New York and internationally, including Off-Broadway productions and national music festivals. This professional experience allows me to bring real-world insight into my teaching, helping students understand not only how to play music, but also how music works in performance and creative settings.

Whether your goal is to build a solid foundation, prepare for auditions, improve technique, or explore your own creativity, I am here to support you. I aim to make lessons both effective and inspiring, so that students can grow with confidence and enjoy their musical journey.
