About Me
Hi, I’m Zammy, a piano teacher with a strong focus on jazz, improvisation, and building solid piano fundamentals. I’ve been playing piano for over 15 years, and music has been a central part of my life for as long as I can remember. Over time, what began as a personal passion has grown into both a professional path and a calling to help others discover their own voice through music.
As a teacher, I’ve recently stepped more intentionally into instruction while continuing to perform, compose, and grow as an active musician. Because I’m still deeply engaged in real-world music-making, I bring a practical and current perspective into every lesson. My goal is not just to help students play notes correctly, but to help them truly understand the language of music in a way that feels meaningful and empowering.
My teaching approach is simple: clear, musical, and practical. I believe students learn best when concepts are broken down in ways that make sense and immediately connect to actual playing. Rather than rushing through songs mechanically, I guide students toward understanding rhythm, harmony, technique, ear training, and musical interpretation so they can think like musicians, not just follow instructions.
What makes my lessons unique is the emphasis on creativity and real musical understanding. Especially in jazz, I help students move beyond simply reading what’s on the page and begin exploring improvisation, listening skills, and personal expression. I want students to feel confident creating music, not just reproducing it.
I also tailor every lesson to the individual. Some students want classical foundations, some are drawn to jazz, others simply want to play confidently at home, in church, or for personal enjoyment. Wherever a student is starting from, I meet them there and help them build from that point with patience, encouragement, and structure.

Frequently Asked Questions
What age to start piano lessons?
Students can start piano as early as 4–6 years old, depending on attention span and interest. At this age, lessons focus on musical games, rhythm, ear training, and basic keyboard familiarity. Older beginners are absolutely welcome too—there’s no “too late” to start piano.
