Piano Lessons in Aurora

Hi there!

I'm Lara and I have been in the music industry for a long time. I even grew up in a musical family! My main “gig” is composing for film, television and other projects, I do some occasional performance work, and I have been teaching piano lessons since 2001. I am passionate about music and love to help others find their connection to this wonderful, creative art.

I teach children and adults. My students tend to see me as friendly and fun, but I am also professional, dedicated, methodic and effective. I tailor every lesson to the individual student since I believe nothing in life is "one size fits all". For one student, that might mean really focusing on improving reading and fine tuning classical performance and technique. For another it might mean a lot of ear training and music theory and learning how to read pop/rock charts.

I enjoy working with absolute beginners as well as later beginners and intermediate students who have been playing for a few years.

As a composer and songwriter, I also enjoy teaching others the basics of songwriting, composing, production, etc. (optional, but I did want to mention that) and I can also teach beginner level ukulele.
