About Me
Meet Antonio “Big Luke” Hodges
Antonio “Big Luke” Hodges is an accomplished educator, independent music producer, engineer, and award-winning pianist with a passion for developing the next generation of musicians. With a lifelong dedication to music that began in childhood, Antonio combines classical training with the ability to play by ear, offering students a well-rounded and versatile learning experience.
A prolific pianist, Antonio received the prestigious Louis Armstrong Award for Jazz Piano Performance for two consecutive years during his studies at Lander University—an unprecedented achievement. His musical foundation is deeply rooted in jazz and hip-hop, while also spanning gospel, R&B, classical, and contemporary styles. His artistry reflects the influence of legendary musicians such as Duke Ellington, Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, Bill Evans, Quincy Jones, and Dr. Dre.
Beyond performance, Antonio brings extensive real-world industry experience into his lessons. He has produced, mixed, and mastered nationally and internationally distributed recordings, including collaborations with featured artists such as Fantasia and Snoop Dogg. His production credits include the viral hit “The Trail Riders Shuffle,” which has surpassed 15 million streams worldwide.
Antonio’s lessons are designed to build strong technical skills, music theory knowledge, ear training ability, creativity, and confidence. Whether students are interested in piano performance, jazz studies, music production, songwriting, or developing their own unique sound, Antonio provides practical instruction grounded in both tradition and modern industry standards.
His goal is simple: to help each student discover their musical voice, develop discipline and artistry, and experience the joy and power of music at the highest level.
