Piano Lessons in West Loop

Hi there! My name is Maya, and I’m so excited to begin this piano journey with you! Music has always been such an important part of my life, and over the past two years of teaching piano, I’ve discovered that what I love most is helping kids realize just how fun, expressive, and empowering music can be.

I currently study at Berklee College of Music, one of the top music schools in the world, where I continue to grow not only as a pianist but as a well-rounded musician. Being in that environment constantly challenges and inspires me, and I love bringing what I learn there directly into my lessons. It allows me to combine strong technical training with creativity, modern styles, and real-world musicianship.

My teaching style is centered around making lessons playful, creative, and encouraging, while still building a solid foundation in music theory and technique. I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable, supported, and excited to learn. That’s why I focus on creating a positive space where students can ask questions, explore new sounds, and build confidence at their own pace. At the same time, I make sure they develop proper technique, rhythm, note reading skills, and musical understanding that will stay with them long-term.

What makes my lessons special is that they are personalized to each student. We explore a variety of musical styles; whether it’s classical, pop, film music, or songs they already love. When students connect with the music they’re playing, their motivation and growth happen naturally. I aim to balance structure with creativity so lessons feel productive but never overwhelming.
