Experience

I am a classically trained pianist with extensive performance and teaching experience. I received my musical training through a rigorous conservatory path, including studies at the Shanghai Conservatory affiliated middle school, Mannes School of Music, and the Cleveland Institute of Music. I have performed in major venues such as Carnegie Hall (Weill Recital Hall) and Steinway Hall, and participated in international music festivals including Bowdoin International Music Festival and Puerto Rico Piano and Strings Festival.

I have several years of teaching experience working with students of different ages and levels, both in music schools and private studio settings. I have been teaching privately since 2019 and am experienced in adapting lessons to online formats.

Teaching Approach

My teaching approach is structured, clear, and highly personalized. I focus on building a solid technical foundation while developing musical understanding, stylistic awareness, and confident performance skills. I believe good technique should feel natural and efficient, and I help students understand how and why things work, rather than relying on imitation alone.

Lessons are tailored to each student’s goals—whether that is learning repertoire, improving technique, preparing for auditions or competitions, or developing healthy and effective practice habits. I place strong emphasis on problem-solving skills and independent practice, so students know exactly what to work on between lessons.

Expected Results

Students can expect steady improvement in technique, accuracy, musical expression, and confidence. Over time, they develop better control, clearer musical ideas, stronger rhythm, and a more reliable performance under pressure. Most importantly, students gain a deeper understanding of the music and learn how to practice efficiently, allowing them to make consistent progress even outside of lessons.
