Piano Lessons in Davidson

My name is Aidan Quintana, and I am a classical pianist and conductor, jazz pianist and improviser, and composer. I am a graduate of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts’ high school music program, and have years of active performing and teaching experience.

I would consider my teaching approach to be very flexible depending on the student, but fundamentals are absolutely vital to all students, no matter what kind of music they want to play. I believe it necessary to instill a theory background alongside learning to play piano, as it will assist all kinds of students in learning their music (whether they intend on studying music seriously, or play piano for fun!).

Another important aspect of my teaching is technique. I am a student of the Russian school of piano playing, and I strongly believe that working on a student’s technique will only make their time playing piano more enjoyable. Pain or discomfort is something no student should have to deal with while playing, so having a strong technical foundation is vital to keeping piano playing fun!

Classical music is not my only area of expertise. I have years of performing and teaching experience in jazz music, as well as pop and rock music. I am always happy to work with students on a variety of repertoire!
