Piano Lessons in Elk Grove

Hello, my name is Cyrus Palma. I am 27 years old. I have been teaching since 2018 and playing piano since I was around 12 years old. I am a composer and pianist/keyboardist. I also am a stagehand. I help out with audio at my church. I am working on graduating college and would like to be a music therapist. I believe music has the power to heal and soothe. I am super passionate about music and I enjoy sharing that passion with my students.

Since I enjoy composing and improvising, I encourage my students to experiment, "mess around", have fun on the piano. I can also teach other keyboards like sythesizers or music production. I teach all ages but most of my students I've had taught have been children ages 5-12 and teenagers 13-17.

I don't believe in a "one size fits all" method. My teaching approach is tailored to the student's strengths, skills and experience. I teach with grace, empathy and patience. I come up with games or challenges to help my students engage and learn. I do my best to make a fun learning enviroment that is filled with encouragement, confidence and respect. One of the biggest goals I have for my students is for them to love the piano and music. I also believe that learning music skills can also help with other life skills too.
