Piano Lessons in Ellington

It is my pleasure to welcome you to Music and Masque, my private studio. Here is a little about my background:

I hold my Bachelors in Music Education from SUNY Fredonia and Masters in Arts Education from Stony Brook University. I have prepared implemented and presented a variety of musical and theatre programs over my extensive career and havwe been teaching privately for over 40 years. I am certified music and theatre education in NY, CT and MA where I taught Prek- 12 public school. I continue to be a working musician; play keys for a Jazz Band, organist at a local church and concert accompanist for a few schools here in CT.

My private study is designed for all ages and abilities, on a once per week or bi monthly basis. Since it is my desire to build and continue to build interest in the piano, vocal and musical theatre/performance craft, focused in our youth community, and continue to support healthy and quality musicianship, I am willing to work around your schedule. Singers who may be considering singing as a career path, or who are preparing auditions or roles for performance are more than welcome in my private studio. Students interested in piano instruction at any level are welcome as well.

Diction, vocal pedagogy, interpretation, translation, text- subtext, style, characterization – are all elements in good voice lessons. For piano, I encourage improvisation early on in each lesson, while working on rudiments in music theory, dexterity and flexibility while infusing introduction to songwriting. Along with a sense of humor and an honest approach to the life of a musical artist, we can develop a strong performance style, and work towards individual success.
