Learn Piano with Larry Jackson
“I specialize in Classical, Jazz Improvisation, and Gospel”
About Me
Hello! My name is Michael, and I am an experienced music educator, behavior interventionist, and mentor dedicated to helping students grow in both skill and confidence.
I specialize in teaching piano and foundational music skills in a way that is structured, engaging, and encouraging. My approach combines strong fundamentals with creativity, ensuring students not only learn how to play, but also understand what they are playing.
I believe students learn best when they feel supported, challenged, and confident. My lessons are:
• Clear and step-by-step
• Interactive and practical
• Structured but enjoyable
• Encouraging and motivating
Whether we are working on beginner piano skills, music theory, rhythm training, or performance preparation, I break concepts down into simple, manageable steps. I focus on building a strong technical foundation while keeping lessons engaging and age-appropriate.
What Makes My Lessons Different
With my background in education and behavior support, I understand how to create a positive, focused learning environment. I help students:
• Build strong practice habits
• Set achievable goals
• Develop discipline and consistency
• Overcome frustration with confidence
• Prepare for performances with calm and control
I teach students how to practice effectively, not just repeatedly. We focus on quality over quantity, using strategies that make progress visible and rewarding.
I enjoy working with children and teens at beginner to intermediate levels. I adapt my teaching style to each student’s personality and learning pace. Some students need extra structure. Others need creative encouragement. Many need both. I meet students where they are and guide them forward.
Music lessons are about more than playing notes correctly. Through our work together, students develop:
• Confidence
• Focus
• Patience
• Responsibility
• Perseverance
I aim to help students build not only musical skill, but also the self-belief that carries into school, sports, and everyday life.
Our Mission
My goal is simple: to help every student leave lessons feeling capable, encouraged, and excited to improve. I want students to develop a genuine love for learning and the confidence to take on new challenges.
If you are looking for a teacher who combines structure with inspiration and discipline with encouragement, I would love to work with you and your family.
Let’s build skill, confidence, and a lifelong love for music together..
