Learn Piano with Marshall Jones
“I specialize in Piano, Composition, and Theory”
About Me
I'm Marshall Jones. I have been a church musician for 18 years directing choirs and handbell ensmebles and playing piano and organ for worship services. I have also taught music theory and aural perception at the University of Arkansas and at taught those as well as piano and keyboard skills classes at Flathead Valley Community College. In recent years I have played horn in the Glacier Symphony, Arkansas Winds, Horn Force (a horn choir in northwestern Arkansas), and the Flathead Valley Community Band. I have been ringing as a substitute in the Pikes Peak Ringers and with the Bells of the Rockies. I have graduate degrees from University of South Florida and Florida State University in music theory and composition. I also hold a degree in music education from the College of Wooster.
In my teaching, I strive to make my students the most versatile musicians they can be. If I am teaching piano, I am still teaching theory through the piano so that you can begin to anticipate what comes next in a piece to better sight-read. I will introduce you to music which you likely have never heard to help you explore the possibilities of what can be done.
