Learn Piano with Barbara Ladd
“I specialize in Sight Reading And Note Reading, Jazz Improvisation, and Music Theory”
About Me
My name is Barbara Ladd. I have been teaching for 20 years. My students learn at a faster rate than most students. I teach music theory and how to recognize chords in music. This helps with sight reading. I teach from ages four to senior age. I have a piano recital once a year in the summer time. I like to use Faber and Faber lesson books one through five. I use Hal Leonard books for the other instruments. These books have popular folk songs and classical songs. I make sure that students know notes, scales, and chords very well. All music is made up of scales and chords. If students can recognize this pattern, they become very good sight readers. Learning chords, helps them to play by ear, improvise better, and eventually write their own songs. Whether my students are learning piano, guitar, violin, ukulele, or voice lessons, they always leave smiling. My piano lessons are fun and educational.
