Piano Lessons in Glen Allen

Greetings: My name is Sandra Holzbach. I have been teaching piano for eight years. I started piano as a little child and had the same instructor for eighteen years. I played for the Heritage School of Dance, The School for the Richmond Ballet and also was in a musical act for 20 years. I teach my students a wide range of music depending upon the students age level and the rate they learn. I strive to make the lessons enjoyable for each student. My specialty in teaching is working with the student in the Alfred and the Piano Adventures series. The training enables them to be able to play contemporary, classical, rock, spiritual and patriotic. My students also receive training in music theory and notespeller. They are also required to learn their flash cards which helps them to read the treble and the bass clef. This also helps them to learn music terminology which could help prepare them for the school and college level if they so desire. I wish to share an example of one student that I had 2 years ago. She was an intermediate student who enjoyed playing classical music. She also had the desire to try out with the school orchestra playing another instrument. She was put into beginners band in her school, but when the school music teacher heard her, she was moved up to play in the school orchestra. Today I have another student who is also playing an extra instrument in the school band. Learning the piano lays the foundation for the student to easily pick up on other instruments if they so desire. My goal is to train my students so that they can play any song and enjoy what they are playing. My students have participated in various piano recitals through the years.
