Piano Lessons in Gorham

I’m a 21-year-old piano teacher who has been playing since I was 9—which means I’ve spent over half my life at the keyboard (and yes, I still genuinely love it). What started as a childhood activity quickly turned into something I connect with every day, whether I’m practicing, playing for fun, or creating new music.

I’m originally Russian and fluent in Russian, which allows me to connect with a wider range of students and make lessons more comfortable for those who prefer learning in either language.

Over the years, I’ve explored a wide range of styles, including classical, gospel, improvisation, composition, and more. I especially enjoy improvising and writing my own music because it keeps things creative and never boring—no two practice sessions ever feel exactly the same. That said, I also believe in learning strong fundamentals, so students get a solid foundation before we start bending the “rules” and having more fun with it.

As a teacher, my goal is to make lessons feel relaxed, supportive, and actually enjoyable. I know everyone learns differently, so I tailor my approach to each student’s pace, goals, and interests. Whether you’re just starting out and learning your first notes, or you already have some experience and want to grow, I’ll meet you where you are.

I like to include music students actually enjoy playing, not just exercises, so practicing doesn’t feel like a chore. I also focus on building confidence, because learning an instrument can feel intimidating at first—but it doesn’t have to be.

At the end of the day, I believe piano should be something you look forward to. If we can learn, improve, and have a few laughs along the way, then I’d call that a successful lesson.
