Piano Lessons in Hickory

Hello, I am Lori Bursey. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Performance and a Master of Arts degree in Church Music. After teaching private piano for many years I decided to pursue licensure In Music Education which I completed in 1997. From 1997 until 2017 I taught Music Education in both public and private school settings. I also enjoy choral directing and have sung in numerous ensembles. Music is my passion, and I love opening up the world of music to others!

It is my belief that a music lesson should be as Individualized as the student. I create a student's lesson around the his/her interests. A beginning student is taught using one of the traditional piano method series, i.e., Alfred, Bastian, Faber, etc., which teach basic fundamentals, technique, and theory. As the student becomes more proficient, I begin incorporating syles and genres tailored specifically to the student's interests
