Piano Lessons in Near Eastside

Hi, my name is Jake. I am a professional opera singer and music educator in Indianapolis. I teach out of my home and virtually. The instruments that I teach are voice and piano. I have a music education degree from the Indiana University School of Music. I started teaching private lessons 12 years ago, and have 6 years of teaching all grade levels in schools. As a singer, I have sung with Indianapolis Opera and the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. I feel confident teaching all ages and experience levels. My music studio is an open door for any student who wants to improve musically.

For piano, the minimum age that I will teach is students that are in kindergarten. This is because students are beginning to read, and this makes them able to start reading music. For voice students, it depends on what age they are and why they are taking voice in the first place.

My students have all kids of accolades. When I was teaching choir in schools, I had students make the All State Choir. I also had students win awards at the state level for their singing. I have students who perform professionally and in community theaters around Indianapolis. Some organizations that my students have performed for include the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Indiana Repertory Theater, Footlite Musicals, Civic Theater, and Epsilon Theater Company.
