Piano Lessons in Lakeville

Welcome! I recently moved to the South Bend area, and can travel between South Bend, Mishawaka, Elkhart, and the surrounding towns.

I have been a live-long educator, beginning with tutoring other students when I started conservatory in 2009 in Chicago.

My higher-educational background is in Composition and Theory, which I believe requires an intimate knowledge of all instruments. I have learned to play at least 15 instruments.

While I also taught band and piano in a school environment, I love to work with students one-on-one, tailoring lessons and exercises to ensure success.

I utilize many different methods; mixing and matching, as well as composing original exercises for areas students need extra guidance.

While building students' confidence in playing, I also love to sneak in Music Theory topics every lesson to increase their understanding of how the music works which I believe aids greatly in their playing and keeps interest alive.

Once students reach a certain level, I also challenge them to compose simple melodies that work under their fingers and sound personal to them.

When they are happy with their composition, I alter it to include performance/playing topics and techniques we currently studying.
