Piano Lessons in Bixby Knolls

Hi, I’m Izzy! (she/her). I am a music teacher based in the Long Beach area specializing in voice, piano, guitar, ukulele, music theory, and performance! I am currently pursuing my Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education at the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at California State University, Long Beach.

I have been teaching music since October 2024 and have experience working will students of all ages as well and students with special needs. Although I have a general lesson layout for my students, I make sure that the content and approach I take are tailored to each individual student’s skill level, learning style, and desired area of music study.

As a contemporary and classically trained musician, I understand that finding the motivation to practice consistently can be difficult. However, a big part of my teaching is getting to know my students and their goals/interest and recommending repertoire that I believe they would enjoy learning. This approach enables each student to further expand their skill set as they are significantly more likely to remain motivated and commit to consistent practice when studying material that genuinely interests them.

I value forming authentic connections with my students and their families while providing a safe space to explore new genres, instruments, and techniques. As a young educator, my goal is to inspire the next generation of musicians through a culturally expansive music education that is accessible, nurturing, and inclusive!
