About Me
Music has been a lifelong passion — one that began at a very young age, but at age nine the music studies began, and has only deepened with time. Over the years, studying with a variety of teachers offered a broad education in what works and what doesn't in the practice room. Those experiences — both the inspiring and the instructive — shaped a teaching philosophy grounded in productive, healthy, and joyful music-making.
A defining milestone came as a young adult: after years of dedicated practice and deep study of the repertoire, an international competition offered the opportunity to earn a coveted performance spot at Carnegie Hall — a dream that had taken root the very first time that legendary venue's reputation became known. Through a top-ranked finish, that dream became a reality.
A Bachelor of Music from Westfield State University in Massachusetts provided an immersive foundation in music theory, history, and performance. Beyond the piano, musical life has included singing in and accompanying choirs throughout high school and college, choral conducting coursework, private voice study, and more recently an exploration of the bel canto method— a historically grounded, vocally healthy approach to singing that has brought rapid and meaningful growth.
The musical repertoire spans classical, pop and soft rock, ragtime, and the great songbooks of film and Broadway — because every style brings something unique and worth celebrating. A particular joy is collaborative piano playing, especially piano four-hand music with fellow pianists.
Teaching is an extension of still being a student. The learning never stops, and that ongoing experience makes it easier to understand what students are going through — the challenges, the breakthroughs, and everything in between. The goal in every lesson is to create an encouraging, respectful space where students feel seen, supported, and genuinely excited about music. Spreading that love of music has always been, and continues to be, one of the greatest rewards of this work.
