Piano Lessons in Upper Montclair

Hello! I'm Jeremy, a classically-trained pianist and teacher. I have taught piano across many different environments and with students of all demographics, skill-levels, and backgrounds.

Music is a conduit for expression that runs through us all. As a teacher, I am guide to helping students discover their unique music. My tailored approach begins with building a rapport with you and learning your music goals. This helps me encourage a fun learning environment. We start with easy pieces, note-reading, and technique. With the basics established, you'll begin discovering what is enjoyable for yourself at the piano. When we play the right notes and make a beautiful sound, we smile. Over time, you'll inspire yourself to keep making achievements, to hear and express your own music, and to discover the music within yourself. If we are enjoying the time spent learning and practicing piano, then we are connecting with an instrument, with music, and with ourselves.

Beyond beginner teaching, I have an advanced knowledge of classical music theory and coaching. I hold a master's degree in piano performance and have taught independently as well as in academic settings. I have performed as a soloist and with orchestras, chamber groups, and choirs.
