About Me
Ping C. is a classically trained violinist, violist, pianist, and dedicated teacher based in New York City with over a decade of experience teaching students of all ages and levels.
She holds both a Master of Music and an Artist Diploma from the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music (CCM), where she studied under Dr. Catharine Lees and Masao Kawasaki. Originally from Taiwan, she began her musical training performing in string quartets, choirs, and orchestras, and was recognized as a prize-winning chamber musician in local radio competitions. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in viola performance with a minor in piano in Taipei before continuing her graduate studies in the United States on a Graduate Incentive Award Scholarship.
As a performer, she has appeared in solo and chamber recitals throughout her career and has participated as a fellowship artist at the Cincinnati Young Artist Chamber Music Festival and the Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival. She has also toured extensively as a freelance musician across the United States and has been featured in the Chicago Chinese-language press and Cincinnati local radio programs.
As a teacher, Ping C. has over 10 years of experience teaching violin and piano to students from beginners to advanced levels, including those preparing for auditions, competitions, and pre-college programs. Her teaching emphasizes technical clarity, musical expression, and the development of confident, independent musicianship, with an approach tailored to each student’s individual artistic voice.
