Piano Lessons in Manhattan

I am Carina Tiotuico Peckar a Dr of Music & Foreign languages with 40 years of teaching experience since 1986 working with all ages and levels. I was honored as MTNA Teacher of The Year in 2010 and 2013.

My teaching style is foundational, structured and inspiring. I start every student with Do, Re, Mi, teaching all music notes even in Latin solfège to built a strong ear and true musicianship. From there we move into side reading technique and expressive artistry tailored to each student’s goals.

What makes my lesson special is result paired with Joy. My students have earned acceptance to LaGuardia High School,Juilliard,Baylor,Morehead,Indiana, Vocalists I’ve coached have gone to major competitions like AGT,The Voice,The X Factor, etc.

I also teach autistic students for their musical dreams. I combine rigorous classical training with encouragement, clarity and individualized plans.

Whether beginners or pre professionals, students leave confident,well rounded musicians who truly love music!
