“I specialize in Beginners Piano, and Intermediate Piano”
About Me
I am a passionate and dedicated music educator with a strong background in both performance and teaching. With a Master’s degree in Vocal Performance and a Bachelor’s degree in Music, I bring a deep understanding of musical expression, technique, and artistry into every lesson. Although my primary instruments are voice and violin, I have extensive training in piano and use it as a foundational tool to teach music theory, ear training, and overall musicianship.
My teaching approach is student-centered, supportive, and engaging. I believe that every student learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to meet individual goals, whether that’s building a strong technical foundation, preparing for performances, or simply learning to play for personal enjoyment. I incorporate elements of creativity, movement, and listening to make lessons dynamic and meaningful.
I have experience teaching students of various ages and backgrounds, from beginners to more advanced musicians. My goal is to help each student develop confidence, discipline, and a lifelong love for music. I strive to create a positive and encouraging learning environment where students feel inspired to grow and express themselves through music.
I use a variety of trusted teaching materials and methods to support each student’s growth. One of my primary resources is the Piano Adventures series by Nancy Faber and Randall Faber, which provides a well-structured and engaging approach for beginners through intermediate students. These books combine technique, theory, sight-reading, and repertoire in a way that keeps students motivated and progressing steadily.
In addition to method books, I incorporate supplementary materials tailored to each student’s interests, including classical repertoire, popular music, ear training exercises, and improvisation. I also use piano as a tool to teach music theory, helping students understand what they are playing—not just how to play it.
Depending on the student’s level and goals, I may include scales, technical exercises, and creative activities such as composition or simple accompaniment. My goal is to provide a balanced musical education that builds strong fundamentals while keeping lessons enjoyable and inspiring.
