Piano Lessons in Suburban Acres

Hello! My name is Franklin, and I am a passionate music educator with over seven years of teaching experience. I offer private instruction in both piano and drums for students of all ages and skill levels, from complete beginners to more advanced musicians looking to refine their technique and musical understanding.

My primary areas of focus include jazz, improvisation, classical music, and blues. I believe that music education should be both structured and enjoyable, so I tailor each lesson to the individual student's goals, interests, and learning style. Whether a student wants to learn to read sheet music, develop strong technical skills, improvise confidently, prepare for performances, or simply play music they enjoy, I work to create a supportive and engaging learning environment that helps them succeed.

I earned an Associate's Degree in Music from Tidewater Community College, where I studied music theory, performance, ear training, and musicianship. In addition to my academic background, I have performed in a variety of ensembles, giving me valuable experience in both solo and group performance settings. These experiences allow me to provide students with practical musical knowledge that extends beyond the lesson room.

I currently teach at Guitar Center and have been doing so for over a year, working with a diverse range of students and helping them achieve their musical goals. My teaching approach emphasizes strong fundamentals, creativity, and developing a lifelong appreciation for music. I am committed to helping each student build confidence, grow as a musician, and enjoy the process of learning an instrument.
