About Me
Hi! I’m Miss Cortney! I’ve been teaching in the Deer Park/Pasadena/La Porte area for over 15 years! I have a music degree from Lamar University and have a background in classical and musical theatre styles. I specialize in young students and strong musicianship skills such as steady beat, rhythm, and dynamics. I teach with an heavy emphasis on music theory and will not only teach songs but also utilize fun activities and game into the lesson! Years of elementary music classroom experience have taught me how to incorporate exciting and engaging strategies that help students think outside the box, and allow me to cater more specifically to each student’s individual needs. I also teach voice lessons as well! I am currently teaching classical/choral vocal technique in DPISD but love teaching music theatre and pop styles as well. I bring a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable and thrive. My motto is: Keep it fun, keep it groovy!

How much are piano lessons and how do I pay?
I offer 30, 45, and 1 hour long lessons. It’s $30 for 30 mins, $45 for 45 mins, and $60 for an hour! You can pay cash, check, or Venmo!
Do you do online lessons?
Yes! We can do FaceTime or Zoom.
I have a young child. What are the ages that you teach, and what can I expect During the lesson?
For students six and above, I teach basic piano lessons with a heavy emphasis on musicians ship skills. For a very young children 3 - 5, it will be a combination of activities and games to get them familiar and comfortable with music and basic piano techniques. They won’t even know they’re learning!
Do you teach adults?
Absolutely! I have been teaching adults for my entire career!
