Piano Lessons in Pembroke

My name is Julie Hunter-Rankin and I am a 2005 Music graduate from Greenville University of Greenville, Illinois. I specialize in reading and teaching music notation and lead sheet improvisation in popular music. I am classically trained as well at an intermediate level. I have performed in many ensembles and have directed a couple of church music groups within the last 10 years. I have over 1 year of experience teaching piano dating from this past year and the year 2011.

Learning piano can be very rewarding, but it takes a self-motivated, dedicated learner. Adequate practice times outside of lesson times are essential to achieving successful piano playing proficiency. My goal is to provide a foundation in reading notation, theory, and piano playing technique to the musical preference of the student. I can provide the materials and help you learn to read music and chord charts. I would appreciate the opportunity to reward others with the skills I have acquired throughout my experiences as a pianist.
