Piano Lessons in Petaluma

I have a BA in Music and I am a lifelong professional musician with national and international experience. I am also a piano instructor with over 15 years of experience including a position at the Napa School Of Music since 2013.

I tailor all instruction to the student's level and their own musical goals. I am not authoritarian by nature but rather supportive and confidence building.

Over the years I have taught nearly every style. And I have taught all levels with students ranging from 4-80+ years of age. I particularly enjoy older adults who are coming back to the piano after a hiatus of many years. Oftentimes they have learned as a youth and want to revisit the piano but are interested in learning to improvise in blues, jazz or pop styles.

In addition to teaching a more conventional style of playing which involves strictly reading printed scores I also teach a chord based style of learning for students who want to express themselves musically but struggle with the written note. (Of course I am delighted when students are comfortable with both styles of learning/playing.)

Students in my home studio will enjoy a relaxed atmosphere and the chance to play on my Yamaha C3 Conservatory Grand.
