Learn Piano with Kyrie Larson
“I specialize in Classical Piano Performance”
About Me
Hello! My name is Kyrié Larson, and I am currently pursuing my Bachelor’s Degree in Piano Performance at UNR! I have been teaching piano for many years and am passionate about helping students of all ages and skill levels grow both musically and creatively.
My teaching style focuses on building strong fundamentals while keeping lessons engaging, encouraging, and personalized to each student’s goals. Whether a student wants to study classical repertoire, improve technique, learn music theory, prepare for performances, or simply play for enjoyment, I create lessons that are both structured and inspiring.
What makes my lessons special is the balance between technical growth and genuine musical expression. I strive to create a positive and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, exploring creativity, and developing confidence at the piano. I also tailor lesson plans to each student’s learning style, making music education approachable, motivating, and rewarding.
Above all, I believe music should be meaningful and enjoyable, and I love helping students discover their own connection to the piano.
What I love most about teaching piano is watching students grow in both confidence and musical ability over time. Seeing a student master a piece they once thought was impossible, discover their own creativity, or genuinely enjoy making music is incredibly rewarding to me. I love being able to share my passion for piano while helping students build skills that encourage discipline, self-expression, and confidence both in and outside of music.
My studio environment is supportive, encouraging, and welcoming. I strive to create a space where students feel comfortable learning at their own pace while still being challenged to grow. Lessons are positive and personalized, with a balance of structure, creativity, and fun. I believe students learn best when they feel motivated and supported, so I focus on creating an atmosphere where mistakes are part of the learning process and progress is celebrated.
A typical first lesson with me is relaxed, engaging, and focused on getting to know the student. We begin by discussing musical interests, prior experience, and personal goals for lessons. I usually assess basic fundamentals such as rhythm, note reading, technique, and musical understanding in a low-pressure way so I can better tailor future lessons to the student’s needs. During the lesson, students also get a feel for my teaching style through beginner exercises, simple pieces, or musical activities designed to build confidence and excitement about learning piano.
