Piano Lessons in Revere

My name is Dorothea Orozco, and I’ve been teaching piano and voice for five years. I have a bachelor’s degree in music education and am currently working towards my masters degree in Elementary Education. My philosophy of teaching is that anyone can sing. I strive to provide a comfortable, culturally relevant, and approachable learning environment for all my students so they feel comfortable to express themselves through music.

My approach to teaching music focuses around pedagogies such as Dalcroze Eurythmics, and Koday. I also implement other teaching strategies such as contextualized reading when applied to musical theory and poetry within vocal music. I want my students to not only be able to perform music, but to understand the context behind a work to truly grasp the beauty behind the piece. Through my classes, students will be able to read and understand music at the basics levels of music theory, be able to analyze music to understand and interpret their own meaning behind it, and be able to perform the music though the vocal techniques and concepts learned in lessons.
